Joep van Lieshout discusses what inspired him to become an artist and how he made the transition to product design in our latest Design Dreams talk with Moooi. Tune in from 6:30pm New York time to watch the talk live.

The livestream has now ended, but you can still watch the talk in full above.

Dezeen editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs speaks to the Dutch artist and designer about his career to date at Moooi's showroom and brand store in New York.

Van Lieshout, who set up his studio Atelier van Lieshout in 1995, has produced a diverse range of work spanning art, architecture and design. Last year he courted controversy when the Musée du Louvre in Paris cancelled a display of his controversial Domestikator project, a 12-metre high sculpture that resembles a man engaging in a sexual act with a four-legged animal.

The Rotterdam-based creative will also discuss the crossover between his art installations and the products he has designed for Moooi, such as the Statistocrat lamp from 2015 and his new Liberty Lounge chair, which the Dutch design brand unveiled last month in Milan.
